Heckard's Goal Lifts Bloomsburg Field Hockey to Win

EAST STROUDSBURG--Ashley Heckard (Millerstown/Greenwood) scored with one second left in overtime to lift the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 2-1 victory over East Stroudsburg University on Saturday. With the win, the Huskies remain perfect on the season at 18-0, 13-0 in the PSAC.

Bloomsburg opened the scoring 27 minutes into the game when Tara Bourke (Hopatcong, NJ/Pope John XXIII) scored off a Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntington Valley/Lower Moreland) assist.

East Stroudsburg (10-7, 6-7 PSAC) tied the game at 1-1 when Ashley Kocis scored off an assist from Rachel Hasselhan at the 46 minute mark.

The game remained 1-1 through the end of regulation and the through all but the final second of the overtime period.

Bloomsburg will host Catawba College of North Carolina on Sunday at noon.
